Government of India, Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam-603102 invites applications from eligible candidates for the post of Driver (Ordinary Grade). Advertisement No.2/2011.
Driver-Ordinary Grade (2 Posts OBC-1,UR-1)
Pay Scale: Rs.5200–20200/- + Grade Pay Rs.1900/-
Qualification: Must have passed X Standard (SSC or equivalent) and must hold a clean and valid Driving License to drive Heavy Vehicle
Experience: 3 years experience on driving Light Vehicle/Heavy Vehicle.
Essential: Ability to read and fill up routine forms in English/Hindi desirable. Must be able to attend to minor repairs of Petrol and Diesel driven vehicles such as the following:
a) General day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle.
b) Tyre, battery maintenance and lubrication of vehicle.
c) Accelerator, brake, clutch pedal and fan belt adjustments.
d) Removal of air lock and oil block.
e) Engine tune up, brake adjustments, wheel alignment and observation of dash board meters.
Age Limits: 18-30 Years as on 01.01.2011, Age relaxation for respective categories shall be as per rules.
Selection process: Eligible candidates will be issued with call letters to appear for Driving test. The candidates who qualifies in the driving test will be called for personal interview.
Travelling Allowance: SC/ST candidates called for written test/interview which will be held in Chennai /Kalpakkam will be paid Travelling Allowance as per rules.

1. Application should be submitted in the prescribed proforma.
2. The Application and the outer cover should be superscribed as “Application for the post of DRIVER” against Advertisement No. 2/2011.”
3. Candidate must fill the application forms in CAPITAL LETTERS in his/her own handwriting in English and should use as far as possible only international form of Indian numerals.
4. Photograph: A recent passport size photograph should be affixed on the right hand top corner of the application and one photograph should be pasted on the admit card.
5. Copies of Certificates: Candidates should submit along with their application attested SINGLE COPY of certificates.
a) Copy of Transfer certificate from School (original should be submitted at the time of interview)
b) Educational qualifications/experience and technical qualifications (supported by appropriate mark sheets indicating the subjects offered at the examinations.
c) Copy of valid driving license.
d) Date of Birth /Proof of age.
e) SC/ST/OBC certificates in the prescribed proforma.
f) Proof of the effect that they have been affected by 1984 riots.
g) Certificate regarding domiciled in Kashmir Division from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989

1. Graduates need not apply. (Graduates would be treated as overqualified, but XII Standard would be acceptable)
